Graham Rice

Graham is an Oxfordshire artist whose work is distinguished by an attention to line and detail blended with a harmonious use of colour.  His early background in 3-D computer graphic art, working in the world of computer game design, has influenced the confident precision of his compositions.

He has worked in a variety of media to create his own unique take on landscape, portrait, and still life painting. The rural location of his studio and workshop, set in woodland and close to the rolling landscape of the Cotswolds, has inspired many of his landscape and still life subjects.  His paintings detailing exquisite objects from the natural world reflect the simple beauty and strength of nature.  Alongside these natural subjects, Graham also enjoys exploring themes of childhood and nostalgia in his carefully reflective still life studies.

In these small and intimate still life subjects he has combined intricate realism with a spiritual and meditative quality. The use of soft and harmonious colours creates an image of great depth and calmness.
