Emma Tweedie is a contemporary artist who grew up and originally trained in Belfast before relocating to the UK where she gained an Arts Degree at The University of Northumbria.
She enjoyed a career as an interior design publicist, working on creative brand imagery for editorial features with big name brands including John Lewis, Linwood fabric, and Earthborn paints amongst others.
Most recently, she has studied painting and fine art under the watchful eye of Kevin Chapman (Discerning Eye, Le Diplome De Societaire, Aster Family Private Collection, Reuters Private Collection).
She is best known for her highly emotive and atmospheric 'layer paintings' which are inspired by nature and which attempt to capture the essence and magical dimension we experience when immersed in the outdoors. Her paintings often feature passages of texture and multiple acrylic and ink washes to transport the viewer into a realm of 'feeling'. Chromatic harmonies are achieved through the subtle application of colour which seem to emerge from their own 'interior'.
Emma works on a variety of surfaces in mixed media most of the time. Her work has featured in leading homes and interiors magazines including Country Homes and Interiors.
Emma now works from her studio based in London.
